Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be a member of the US Marketing Leadership Team and will lead the strategic direction of the TLL organization. The TLL team is a commercial, field-based, customer facing role focused on the identification and cultivation of relationships with both leading and emerging key opinion leaders (KOLs). This position will ensure alignment to the UPLIZNA Franchise strategic imperatives to deliver against objectives in the near term and determine the longer-term goals and the Go To Market (GTM) approach as the Franchise expands. This individual will make strategic commercial recommendations to optimize efforts across the organization and ensuring optimal use of resources.

The TLL Head will have an Associate Director reporting to them who they will guide in leading, developing, hiring, and training of the TLL team. This positions’ scope will be responsible for the execution of NMOSD and future launches in gMG and IgG4. The Head of the TLL team will be expected to bring insights to help shape brand strategy and anticipate market events and champion cross functional collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Develop and lead the Strategic direction of the TLL organization in line with Franchise goals.

  • Hire, develop and lead a high-performing TLL team in achieving key objectives.

  • Provide recommendations and rationale for evolution of team considering anticipated expanded Franchise to include GTM approach, responsibilities and priorities.

  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings ensuring knowledge of key priorities and metrics to drive UPLIZNA business objectives.

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the disease state, competitive landscape and therapeutic management of the space.

  • Partner with internal, cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, R&D, Market Access, Digital Marketing, Advocacy and Commercial Operations in the development and execution of strategies and tactics to ensure long-term adoption of UPLIZNA.

  • Understand gaps in the customer experience and provides recommendation for new business initiatives, trainings or interventions necessary to address.

  • Contribute to the development of the annual brand plan with responsibility for defining and executing key areas within the associated tactical plans.

  • Leverage brand insights to inform segmentation, channel mix preferences, and targeting of customer segments.

  • Builds and maintains business relationships at all of the necessary levels in the organization; interacts with and influences key cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Lead and support the TLL team to execute on strategic plans.

  • Lead the TLL insight generation strategy in partnership with key internal stakeholders.

  • Identify, develop and lead opportunities for key strategic partnerships with targeted and relevant societies and conferences to support insight generation, educational outreach and collaboration.

  • Lead the evolution and expansion of the Speaker Bureau.

  • Lead the TLL team to operate to the highest standards in alignment with Amgen’s code of business conduct, ensuring all interactions with KOLs are on-label and consistent with commercial, regulatory, and legal guidelines.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing and/or other commercial function experience

Or

Master’s degree and 8 years of marketing and/or other commercial function experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of marketing and/or other commercial function experience

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have at least 4 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with 7+ years of commercial function experience across multiple therapeutic areas.

  • Experience leading a national TLL team, strongly preferred.

  • Experience in the neurology therapeutic area, with exposure to multiple sclerosis and key MS centers, strongly preferred.

  • Biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience required.

  • Strong leadership capabilities and track record of developing team members.

  • Outstanding analytical and data management skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the abilities to take ownership of issues, to work independently with confidence and to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise judgment and discretion.

  • Ability to work well with all levels of employees and demonstrate strong collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Professional, proactive demeanor.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • Requires approximately 30% travel, including overnight and some weekend commitments.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $226,177.00 to $257,396.00. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
