Job description

CORRELATION ONE

Correlation One is an education technology company building the workforce development platform of the future.

We close skill gaps for enterprises, governments and individuals, while empowering disenfranchised segments of the workforce. By providing training-to-job programs that are 100% free for learners, we eliminate traditional barriers to opportunities. We are committed to helping enterprises like Amazon, Walmart, Prudential, Citadel, Colgate, Johnson & Johnson, Target, Merck and others reskill their workforces to prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow. We build community-oriented, jobs-first learning experiences that offer a human touch and leverage technology to create best-in-class outcomes for everyone.

Each program is taught by industry leaders and experts, professors and Teaching Assistants, delivered virtually to cohort-based learning communities. We currently run over 12 types of programs for 12,000+ learners each year in 10+ countries, and we plan to grow 5-10x in the next two years.

Correlation One is proud to be ranked #6 in LinkedIn's Top Startups 2022 list and a Fast Company's World Changing Idea winner. Join us as we build the workplace development platform of the future!

Summary

This is a part time, contract position. The Head Teaching Assistant plays a critical role in Correlation One's Cybersecurity Training program, a live, online training program for eligible Amazon Associates. In addition to our standard TAs, the Head TA specifically is responsible for live session management, ensuring a flawless experience for fellows, and representing Correlation One, while supporting the management of the TA team. Unlike standard TAs, the Head TA does not have an assigned learner group and is instead responsible for the general management of the live sessions.

Description

This role is ideal for a candidate with exceptional leadership and organizational skills seeking a flexible and meaningful opportunity to serve as a primary point-of-contact for learners and a team of TAs, as well as Lead Instructors. The Head TA should have learning management experience, be familiar or able to quickly learn about cybersecurity concepts generally, and should feel comfortable answering related questions from the TA group. The Head TA will enable TAs to maximize the experience of Fellows in the program while also serving as a bridge between live sessions and C1 staff.

Program Details

  • Program Focus: Cybersecurity
  • Key Skills Taught: Operating Systems & Infrastructure, Identity & Access Management, Cryptography, Networking, Network Defense, Mobile Devices, Ethical Hacking, ATT&CK Framework, Product Security, Security Operations, Humans as the Weakest Link

    • April 30 to October 31. Lectures occur online on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3:30 - 6:00pm ET.
May 30 to November 29. Lectures occur online on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 -6:00pm ET

Job Responsibilities

  • Attend all live sessions and act as a representative for Correlation One during the program, providing program announcements, managing live sessions, and documenting any issues to pass back to Correlation One staff.
  • Serve as liaison between Correlation One's staff (Program Manager, Operations Analyst) and the program's contracted staff (TAs, Lead Instructors)
  • Be point-of-contact in live sessions, troubleshooting any issues and maintain responsibility for a smooth, positive experience for learners
  • Lead the Teaching Assistant team, guiding them on how to manage, support, and instruct a cohort of ~400 Fellows.
  • Maintaining clear and responsive communication with Correlation One.
  • Monitor and synthesize TA sentiment, feedback, and performance throughout the program
  • Lead Weekly TA meetings
  • Guide participants to the right channels to get their questions answered during the program
  • Monitor the Slack class community during class and respond to TA support needs.
  • Collaborate with Correlation One operations personnel to perform class duties well, stay on schedule, support a positive Fellow experience, and provide thoughtful feedback on the program to Correlation One.
  • Conduct yourself in a respective manner at all times, including but not limited to being communicative and responsive to Fellows, colleagues, and the Correlation One personnel, as well as treating Fellows, colleagues, and the Correlation One personnel with respect and avoiding defaming, embittered language or personalized attacks.

Requirements

  • Empathy, flexibility, patience; passion for working with diverse learners who are new to content
  • Experience managing a learning environment, preferably virtual
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting a variety of learner issues from basic technical support to triaging with internal staff.
  • Prior teaching experience at any level is a plus

This position is accessible for those with other professional responsibilities, including full-time jobs, provided you can commit to regular synchronous support for live class sessions. We require a minimum of 2 weeks' notice for any planned absences from live sessions or periods when Trainers are not available (i.e., scheduled vacations, other work commitments, etc.); we will communicate more specific expectations for this during the onboarding process.
