West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses, is seeking a self-motivated and driven Head Swim Coach.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the WVU Tech Director of Athletics, you will be responsible for coaching and managing all aspects associated with a collegiate swim program.

What you'll do:
  • Responsibilities as required for an NAIA Division I Swim Program.
  • Aquatic coaching responsibilities as assigned.
  • Coordinate preparation for competitions.
  • Conduct training and practices for competitions.
  • Evaluate talent in current and prospective student-athletes.
  • Assist in monitoring the academic progress, eligibility, retention rates and graduation rates of players.
  • Assist in disciplining and monitoring conduct of student-athletes.
  • Remain current and adhere to all Institutional, RSC/AAC/NAIA rules.
  • Assist in compiling annual inventories and preparing for equipment purchases according to state purchasing policies.
  • Assist with fundraising responsibilities and working with outside groups to receive funds for athletics
  • Maintain a competitive swim team.
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach and/or the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the following:
    • Collegiate playing experience and/or
    • Successful coaching experience.
  • Ability to work positively with administration, athletic department staff, students and the Director of Athletics in developing and maintaining a good working relationship with the institution and the community.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred

Certifications:
  • American Red Cross (ARC) or comparable certification for CPR/AED, first aid, WSI, lifeguard certification and lifeguard instructor; American Swim Coaches Association Level 2 or Level 3 preferred.

  • A Valid Driver's License
