R'Club Child Care, Inc. has multiple Early Learning Academies throughout Pinellas County from South St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs with a reputation of high-quality environments. All programs are Nationally Accredited or in Self Study process. Lead Preschool Teachers and Teacher Assistants are responsible for providing direct supervision and care for a group of young children. Our staff implement developmentally appropriate practices and ensures the safety and wellbeing of the children as well as providing a model of high quality.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares and implements a program of activities in accordance with agency curriculum for a group of children. Prepares lesson plans.
- Maintains attendance records for a designated group of children and adheres to regular work and activity schedules. Assists in food preparation and distribution.
- Establishes an maintains control and safety of an assigned group of children. Assures the orderliness and cleanliness of designated work area(s).
- Serves as an effective role model for the children by assisting children in a way that develops the child’s role and initiative and interacts in ways that help them learn.
- Assists children with feeding and bathroom needs i.e., changing diapers, helping child to restroom, feed child(ren), etc.
- Maintains a positive and professional attitude with parents, children and staff at all times. Participates in parent contact and communication as assigned. Communicates the child’s progress with parents in a positive and supportive manner.
- Wears the appropriate clothing for child care duties and identifies safety hazards and immediately corrects or reports them to supervisor.
- Attends staff meetings, training events, workshops, etc. and maintains required level of training hours with required documentation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
These positions require occasional contact with a moderate degree of complexity in communications. Supervision is moderate with some independent judgment and decision-making. Work is largely repetitive with some innovation required. Problems to be solved have some degree of complexity. Requires passing of DCF criminal background screening, present a negative TB test result, pass pre-employment drug screening and fitness for duty exam.
Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with R’Club’s mission and program goals. Must have the physical ability to lift children as needed or physically separate children as needed and participate in housekeeping responsibilities. Requires ability to work beyond scheduled time, be punctual and reliable, can be reached via telephone and be able to take direction. Must adhere to the procedures for reporting child abuse.
Salaries are based on Education: High School through bachelor's degree in early childhood education or any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with a minimum of 18 ECE credits.
