Position Summary

The Head Women's Soccer Coach provides leadership and integrity through the provision of creating, planning, organizing, motivating, communicating and controlling aspects relative to teaching, recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, assistant coaches and related booster clubs. The primary function of the Head Coach will be to teach student-athletes the sport of Women's Soccer. The Head Women's Soccer Coach uses current methodologies and recognized best practices in his or her field, specifically in the sport of Women's Soccer. The Head Women's Soccer Coach must have the ability to coordinate a competitive program that develops the skills of his/her student-athletes in Women's Soccer. He/she evaluates and recruits academically qualified student-athletes whose athletic skills would allow the program to be highly competitive.

The Head Women's Soccer Coach will conduct oneself as a true leader and role model both on and off the field of competition. Moreover, the Head Women's Soccer Coach must be knowledgeable about and comply with NCAA regulatory policy governing his or her sport as well as NCAA policies governing recruiting, eligibility, ethical standards, playing seasons, and extra benefits. Mastery of rules and policy is a departmental expectation that is demonstrated by the requirement that the Coach successfully complete the annually administered NCAA Coaches Exam.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related post-undergraduate experience.  Prior experience as a Women's Soccer coach at the Division I collegiate level.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

*Demonstrated ability to manage administrative tasks related to the operation of college level team sports

*Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead student-athletes toward competitive and academic success

*Strong verbal and written communication skills

*Demonstrated ability to effectively recruit student-athletes

*Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers and athletic administration

*Must be able work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Preferred:

*Master's degree

*Head coaching experience at Division 1 collegiate level
