This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, GA, Sunnyvale, CA, Austin, TX, Detroit, MI, Warren, MI, Pontiac, MI, or Milford, MI, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

General Motors is seeking a Head of Social and Influencer Marketing, a strategic leader tasked with overseeing and driving innovative social media and Influencer Marketing efforts across the entire organization. The position will report directly to the Vice President of Cross Brand Marketing.


As the Head of Social and Influencer Marketing , will:

  • Develop a center of expertise and lead a skilled team of GM employees and agency partners, managing a multimillion-dollar budget, and working in close collaboration with Marketing and Communications to ensure unified storytelling and brand amplification.
  • Direct the strategic development and execution of Social media and Influencer Marketing initiatives across the GM brand and its consumer brands—Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac—aligning with GM’s overarching marketing objectives.
  • Innovate and manage content across new and existing social media channels to drive the narrative of GM’s marketing objectives, enhancing the brand's visibility and impact.
  • The ideal candidate will bring a visionary approach to elevating GM’s brand presence, driving innovation in content and Influencer collaborations, and leveraging insights to inform strategies that resonate with our audience and strengthen our market position.

Additional Description

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, with a strong understanding of digital marketing landscapes.
  • At least 10 years of experience in social media and Influencer Marketing, with a proven track record of leading and scaling social media efforts in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience, managing diverse teams and fostering a collaborative, innovative work environment.
  • A self-starter with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and pivot strategies based on market trends and insights.
  • Deep knowledge of Social media trends, platform algorithms, and Influencer Marketing strategies, with a history of executing successful campaigns that drive engagement and meet business objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting data to make informed decisions and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Understand earned media and the interconnectivity with paid and owned.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate vision, strategy, and results to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, collaborating with teams across marketing, PR, product, and analytics to achieve cohesive and impactful marketing initiatives.
  • Passionate about the automotive industry, with a desire to stay aHead of trends in social media, Influencer Marketing, and digital technologies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to creating high-quality, engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to travel - 25%.

Compensation:

  • The expected base compensation for this role is: ($165,100 - $252,900). Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
