The successful candidate will be responsible for driving earned media revenue across print, digital, and audio platforms, ensuring the achievement of budget and profit margin goals. This role involves leading the day-to-day operations of the advertising business, encompassing aspects such as discounts, inventory management, positioning, packaging, delivery, and go-to-market (GTM) strategy, in collaboration with key members of the Impact Partnerships leadership and sales team.
Accountabilities:

Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for delivering earned media revenue (print, digital, audio) budget and profit margin and leading the day to day advertising business including discounts, inventory management, positioning, packaging, delivery, GTM strategy etc. working with key members of the Impact partnerships leadership and sales team.
  • Manage weekly, monthly and quarterly forecast and FY budget as well as steering the special media projects (special reports, franchises, limited series, etc), target lists and sales tactics to ensure revenue goals are achieved.
  • Elevate Economist Impact media capabilities on agency and client calls, working with the global sales team to help steer advertising opportunities and revenue growth.
  • Oversee advertising operations responsible for managing delivery, planning, optimising inventory, and provide quarterly assessment of advertising including CPM, sellthrough, sponsorship analysis.
  • Work together with product, data and tech virtual “squad” teams to execute advertising strategy and deliver innovative advertising solutions.
  • Steer GTM strategy working closely with partnership solutions to create timely, relevant positioning, packages and advertising sales materials
  • Key representative at advertising trade industry associations with IAB, DCN etc
  • Monitor competitive market share and track industry trends and advertising forecasts
  • Work together with MD and key members of the LT to further evolve advertising strategy (setting rate base and pricing, first party data strategy etc) to insure long-term advertising growth

Experience and skills:

  • Proven results driven media leader, with experience managing advertising (print and digital) revenue, forecasting and budgets
  • Experience on both the sell and buy side of the media business – negotiating rates, optimising inventory, building target plans, identifying and managing multiple sales tactics and quarterly targets
  • Experienced and proven sales abilities
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with experience working across teams to deliver results.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $185k,000 $250,000 OTE. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Rather, salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
