The Head of Financial Planning and Analysis will play a leadership role in shaping the Finance team and building the FP&A practice. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will continue to build out the foundation of the FP&A organization and develop over time the team, processes, and systems that will allow the company to continue to scale in a financially sound way for the years to come. You will be empowered to drive improvements in the quality of our work as Instawork grows. We are seeking a seasoned finance leader with an entrepreneurial drive, strong leadership skills, and proven ability to partner with various business leaders. This role will be in our San Francisco HQ.What You'll DoLead the FP&A team that will support the executive team in understanding the financial implications of strategic decisions (resource investments, spend allocation, business planning, etc.)Drive strategic financial planning, building long range plans and size strategic initiatives in partnership with operating leads across the businessLead the annual operating budget process, track and report on performance relative to plan, and manage ongoing rolling forecast updates. Drive operational excellence and detail orientationImprove operating teams' understanding of financial statements and budget adherence with thoughtful and transparent analysis and partnershipEstablish, track and monitor key operating metrics used to drive the business to greater efficiencyDefine and report on the key business metrics, proactively analyze business trends and identify opportunities to improve financial performanceCreate ad-hoc analyses to drive business strategy, improve efficiency and maximize ROICollaborate with operating teams and provide fact-based recommendations that support revenue growth targets and improve profitability, operating efficiency and effectivenessAssist in preparation of materials for Board of Director meetingsContinuously improve FP&A processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and value-add of the function.Who You Are10+ years of experience in professional financial practice/corporate finance, including FP&A leadershipExperienced at managing high-performing FP&A teams and evolving the FP&A processes, in particular for a fast-growing organizationExperience in late stage private or public companies strongly preferredDegree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration preferredAdvanced understanding of GAAP financial statementsRigorous analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skillsHave a clear track record of successfully cultivating cross-functional business partnershipsEffective written and verbal communication skills, also at the executive levelAbility to strive in a fast-paced environment and to deal with ambiguous situationsFor CA based applicants:The base salary for this position is $200,000 - $260,000This position is eligible for equity in the form of stock optionsThis position is eligible for Instawork benefits, including:A variety of medical, dental, and vision plans with coverage beginning on the date of hireFlexible paid time offAt least 8 paid company holidays annuallyHome office stipendPhone stipendCommuter stipendSupplemental pay on qualified leavesEmployee health savings accounts (HSA) contributionFlexible spending plans401K planPerkspot - discount program through LumityA variety of factors are considered when determining someone's compensation including a candidate's professional background, experience, and location.
