Job Title: Head of Engineering & Operations (Dallas & Ramsey)

Work Hours: Monday through Friday. Must be willing to work extended hours, and work some weekends or holidays based on business needs.
Plant Schedule: 8 Hour Shifts (24x5; weekend as needed; Schedules and shift assignments may be subject to change based upon business needs)
SUMMARY
Responsible for the leadership of the engineering team related to all engineering, maintenance and operational activities in Dallas & Ramsey. The Head of Engineering & Operations (DAL & RSY) oversees overall the technical aspects, organization, activities in production , process control (SOP), quality and continuous improvement of yield & DOT, maintain the machines & equipment, control & adjust training of the staff, control safety and administration. Achieves goals by providing direction, organization, coordination, communication and employee development. Builds a cohesive team, leading by example and managing directly through supervisors and group leads. Develops and takes appropriate action in managing the KPI's by controlling labor, usage of the machines, maintain the processes and control the costs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Builds strong partnerships with all departments in the labs DAL & RSY.
- Develop a strong technical engineering organization, including hiring, succession plan to ensure the consistency of operations.
- Champions continuous improvement and influences change efforts to help better meet high quality products and achieve efficiencies in "Yield" and "DOT".
- Implements cost effective systems of control over CAPEX, operating expenditures, manpower and labor costs.
- Ensure that all machines and equipment are running in optimal conditions.
- Ensure all PM are executed on time.
- Ensures team leverages their knowledge of operation and employee capabilities to optimize workflow. Adjust and create new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and suggests improvements to management.
- Provides team with aggressive and clear performance objectives directly tied to lab performance expectations for service, quality and productivity. Creates an environment that inspires the team to take personal ownership for achieving stretch goals and performance improvement.
- Provides leadership that fosters teamwork, employee respect, empowerment, and open communication. Recommends, implements and coordinates with appropriate resources "best practices" and policies that maximize employee development, training and performance.
- Ensures activities are in place to continuously develop departmental employees and assess future management/leadership potential.
- Reviews and analyzes audits, spoilage, and key indicator reports to determine cause of quality or production issues.
- Focus on "sustainability" and create / implement activities which contributes to the global targets.
- Plans and directs the employee training required to stay abreast of new product introduction.
- Responds to customer complaints and concerns as appropriate.
- Leading the introduction of new products (lenses & coatings) and facilitate on the machines and equipment.
- May be assigned other duties, as determined by the Vice President of Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor/Master degree
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a custom made-to-order manufacturing environment
- Minimum 10 years demonstrated abilities with successful implementation of manufacturing methods and processes in production.

Physical ReQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, and hear for at least 5 to 8 hours. The employee must able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The laboratory environment is clean, quiet, and cold.
