YOUR MISSION
As Head of Design and Creative, Ambassadors, you will be responsible for leading and managing the ambassador design team while providing artistic vision and alignment in collaboration with our ambassadors. You will oversee the development and execution of overarching creative concepts, designs, and strategies across footwear, apparel and accessories. Your role is crucial in driving the expression of the artistic vision of the ambassador(s), fostering innovation, and maintaining brand consistency.
DESIGN VISION AND LEADERSHIP:
  • Provide leadership and vision to the design team.
  • Set the overall design direction for ambassador product on a seasonal basis, aligned with the global brand Creative direction and strategy as well as input from the ambassadors themselves.
  • Creative vision extends beyond product to storytelling, visuals, and how it comes to life, leveraging an in depth understanding and connection to the streetwear community and the consumer.

TEAM MANAGEMENT:
  • Hire, manage and mentor Los Angeles based design team across divisions; to include onboarding, training, and performance management (ongoing and during annual performance management process).
  • Mentor and contribute to the development of Designers within team.

DESIGN OVERSIGHT:
  • Review and approve design concepts, ensuring they achieve the ambassador's creative vision while aligning with brand strategy/guidelines.

CREATIVE STRATEGY:
  • Develop creative strategy aligned with business objectives;
  • Drive creative solutions to leverage the satellite design team to the advantage of the brand;
  • Ensure creative direction of Ambassador-focused team aligns to brand while bringing Ambassador's vision to life.

COLLABORATION:
  • Work collaboratively and foster collaboration within immediate team and cross-functionally
    • Work with design team to produce, maintain, update and present creative presentations, sketches, Illustrator drawings, specifications, mood boards, color directions as required.
  • Build an especially strong collaborative working relationships with marketing counterparts to ensure seamless integration and execution of storytelling / seasonal vision.
    • Contribute to adequate protection of PUMA's intellectual property.
    • Travel on development, market and inspiration trips as needed, domestic and international, may be with short notice.

YOUR TALENT
  • Bachelor's degree in Design and/or fashion related industry required
  • Minimum 10 years of fashion industry/design experience; streetwear and sportswear experience required; knowledge in both footwear and apparel
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team; Design and Creative direction a plus
  • Experience working with brand ambassadors and ensuring their vision comes to life Strong creative and artistic skills with the ability to think outside the box and push the boundaries of streetwear fashion
  • In-depth knowledge of competitor landscape, market, trends and subcultures that resonate with target consumer.
  • Strong communication skills to convey ideas, concepts, and design directions effectively
  • Ability to work and adapt within a fast-paced environment
  • Domestic and International travel required; up to 25%.

The Hiring range base pay for this position is $135,600 - $197,285 + Bonus + Benefits
