Job Title: Head of Compute
Location: New York City, NY (On-site 2 days a week)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of Head of Compute. The successful candidate will lead a large and highly skilled team responsible for managing bare metal, virtual machines (VMs), containers, and infrastructure as code across both private and public cloud environments. The position requires a seasoned professional with 15-20 years of relevant experience, particularly in the finance sector.
Responsibilities:

• Accountable for Private Cloud replacement project.
  • Deliver replacement strategy & roadmap for private cloud.
  • Drive new support model for cloud driving DevOps and SRE adoption for the platform.
  • Drive application migration to DevOps and Cloud Culture.
  • Develop center of competency for cloud infrastructure platform management.
• Design, Develop & Deliver New Cloud Infrastructure platform across Private and Public
  • Ensure existing Ops KPIs & KRI's remain aligned to Ops/ITS/ETS Strategy.
  • Design, develop & maintain the Cloud Infrastructure platform. (IaaS, Networking, Storage)
  • Design & Develop new ITS & TSET level KPI's as needed for Cloud Operations.
• Drive Operational tools strategy and operational support for the Cloud Infrastructure Platform
  • Develop and deliver operational tools strategy.
  • Identify opportunity for tools optimization and rationalization.
  • Develop Ops tool governance structure to reduce risk, cost and improve effectiveness.
  • Automate manual and BAU activities.
• Monitoring Maturity & Remediation plan / strategy
  • Deliver & maintain monitoring governance framework for Cloud & DevOps.
  • Deliver Ops Monitoring maturity & remediation strategy for Cloud Platform.
• Leadership
  • Develop and drive a high performing Virtualization team.
  • Partner with global IT counterparts and collaborate on solutions.
• Technical abilities
  • Strong Linux/windows and VMWare knowledge.
  • Experience working with containers and automated pipelines.
  • Knowledge of automation tooling, Ansible and Terraform preferred.

Qualifications:

• 15-20 years of relevant experience in distributed compute, with a focus on finance.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a large team.
• Strong technical expertise in operating systems, virtualization (VMware), containers (Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Ansible).
• Experience with both private and public cloud environments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
