To ensure that the operations of the hotel's housekeeping department runs smoothly and successfully and comply with IHG Brand Standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Take responsibility for management of personnel, linens, cleaning supplies, budget, and scoring of housekeeping staff.
In consultation and cooperation with the General Manager and the Assistant General Manager, insure the department is always prepared to successfully complete a Brand Standard Audit.
Make certain that the housekeeping staff completes the following tasks:
· Change bed linens and make beds per the Housekeeping Services schedule
· Vacuum carpeting
· Dust all furniture including picture frames, bed frames, lamps, TVs, dressers
· Remove fingerprints and smudges on mirrors, shiny surfaces, windows, etc.
· Thoroughly clean the bathroom area - wash shower stall, sink, floor, toilet, etc.
· Set-up each room according to the established standard.
· Report immediately all damage found in a room
· Report immediately all missing items in room. Report immediately personal guest items found in vacant rooms
· Notify staff of cribs in rooms for pickup and storage
Look for stained and/or damaged linens and terry, separate them from other laundry, and notify the General Manager.
· Provide reporting on no luggage, no service needed, sleep outs, extra guests, or anything unusual to the General Manager.
· Complete duties and confirm on daily checklist as assigned
· Must be able to lift, pull, or push at least 50 lbs.
Look for opportunities to develop staff members into positions of secondary leadership within the housekeeping department.
Required Skills
· 3+ years of relevant experience (Preferred)
· Ability to lift and/or carry at least 50 lbs. (Required)
· Ability to stand, walk, twist, and turn on your feet for long periods of time
