Key Responsibilities for the Head Golf Professional include:
Developing, implementing, and ensuring that all quality standards for golf operations and golf facilities are maintained.
Candidate will be responsible for driving performance to attain established goals in collaboration with the General Manager.
Assists in the preparation of the annual budget as well as projects and monitors revenue goals and expenses for the golf operations and takes effective corrective action when necessary.
Enforces basic personnel policy, as well as initiating and monitoring policies relating to personnel actions and training along with professional development programs.
Ensures all Human Resources procedures and policies are followed by staff.
Initiate player development programs specific to the client’s request at the facility, in particular junior programs.
Develops, maintains, and administers a sound organizational plan for the golf operations alongside the General Manager and initiates improvements as necessary.
Maintains membership with the PGA and other professional associations. Attends workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments.
Oversees the care and maintenance of all the facility’s physical assets (carts, merchandise, etc.)
Assists and collaborates in the marketing programs to promote the facility’s services to potential customers.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Directly manages department members that include, but is not limited to: Pro Shop Attendants, Cart Attendants, Range Attendants, Starters, and Rangers.
Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
Qualifications:
PGA Class "A" Member in good standing with excellent communication skills - will consider rising PGA Associates with exceptional experience.
Knowledge of and proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point Microsoft applications,
Strong business acumen – exemplified through understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and exceptional tee sheet management.
Firsthand experience in operating/developing practice range, player development programs, tournament operations and merchandising.
Candidate must be a team player, have a passion for customer service, and be a hands-on leader.
