WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking someone friendly and reliable to coordinate the operational tasks of our Children’s Winter Adventure Camp Program. This Head Coach role is expected to work with the Snowboard Head Coach, WAC Program Coordinator, and Children’s Programs Manager to ensure smooth processes and successful program execution. The role includes planning that can be done remotely but, this person is expected to be onsite every Saturday and Sunday from January 6th to March 3rd, 2023. This role is mostly on snow and outdoors, but the person will be expected to help plan, help keep detailed records, organize (pre and post sessions), communicate with parents, and assist with camper check-in or pick-up. This role is part of the Learning Center team and should be willing to help the team in any capacity, when needed.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE POSITION:
- A positive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented mindset
- Exceptional ability to provide outstanding guest service
- Ability & comfort to help guide and advise a diverse team of coaches in their lesson plans, movement analysis, and teaching
- Strong communication skills (in-person, phone, email, etc.)
- Strong leadership skills and organizational skills
- Enjoys planning and coordinating multi-week programs
- Enjoys working with children but can also communicate appropriately with parents
- Accountability and timeliness
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Assists pre-season with grouping of participants. Includes phone calls and evaluation of skiing abilities to make informed decisions on guests’ ability level.
- Assists in coach selection and early season training of the coaches
- Assists in pre-season planning and decision making for the program (online meetings, procedure outlines, guest communication, etc.)
- Communicates and coordinates to ensure a clear weekly plan
- Assists in leading the pre-shift meetings
- Assists manager in scheduling and timekeeping for staff (using our Flaik software)
- Visits groups throughout each session to assist and mentor coaches
- Assists with parent conversations and communication
- Maintains detailed program records
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to work outside, for long periods of time, in any conditions.
- Must be willing to commit to Saturdays and Sundays, onsite, from 8am to 5pm through program duration.
- At least 2 years’ experience teaching skiing (strong preference for a PSIA certification)
