Job description

JOB PURPOSE:
The HCM Solution Architect is responsible for ensuring Stanford's Oracle Cloud HCM application supports the business' needs and is continuously improved with fit-for-purpose functionality. This role requires a combination skillset for understanding business needs, business processes, and technical knowledge for ensuring the application supports current needs and is enhanced to meet future needs. This role will partner, influence and support leadership teams in strategy development and execution by providing subject matter business/technical expertise in Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll, Absence and Recruiting, and also lead the day-to-day production support activities of Oracle Cloud HCM workstreams.  


CORE DUTIES*:

  • Provide strategy and solution support for Oracle HCM CoreHR application, with broader overarching understanding and support for Oracle HCM Benefits, Payroll, Absence, Recruiting and Security.
  • Manage and direct a team of business solution analysts to develop value driven solutions and implement end-to-end business architecture to help drive, design, and deliver holistic solutions across multiple dimensions, e.g., process, people, technology, data, policy, etc.
  • Leverage business and technical acumen in combination with a deep understanding of processes to execute a broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and drive strategies to align processes, people, technology and underlying governance.
  • Influence high level strategy development by building relationships with key business and IT stakeholders in order to advise senior leaders on programmatic and policy development and drive business architecture alignment across programs.
  • Align Stanford HR's short/long term roadmap and features with Oracle's new release cycles, business enhancements and production break-fix solutions.
  • Execute convergence of initiatives towards long term strategic objectives by partnering with business and technical teams to deliver solutions for the defined business architecture.
  • Oversee the adoption and implementation of new and emerging technologies to meet changing requirements, capabilities, and opportunities.
  • Manage negotiations with vendors and peers to gain agreement upon productive solutions to business problems.
  • Evaluate current processes, assess pain points and root causes, design and deliver future state solutions ensuring integrity alignment exists across all of the functionally focused business architectures.
  • Partner with change management, communication and project teams to ensure business readiness for change and adoption of program and technology investment projects and transformational initiatives or policy updates.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and ten years of increasingly technical work experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, accounting, operations, finance, statistics or engineering. Must have substantial managerial experience in formulating, planning, leading, directing, and controlling a complex, broad, and highly business and technical functions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience of Oracle HCM Fusion applications with thorough understanding of HCM Cloud functional/technical data flows and integrations between various Oracle HCM applications such as: Core HR, Benefits, Payroll, Absence, Recruiting and Security
  • Good working knowledge of Oracle Fusion HCM architecture and administration and the ability to quickly diagnose and solve system problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and deliver results.
  • In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies, trends, methodologies, and resource management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff
  • Excellent organizational leadership, planning and change management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Expert analytical and problem solving skills
  • Subject matter expertise for area(s) of responsibility.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation and political acumen skills. Able to influence people, solve problems, troubleshoot, think creatively and resolve conflicts.
  • Proven presentation experience and comfort with senior management audiences
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, trends and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business and management computer applications and databases.

  • Sitting in place at computer for long periods of time with extensive keyboarding/dexterity; occasionally use a telephone; rarely writing by hand.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. The expected pay range for this position is $146,000 to $195,00 per annum.
Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
