Summary

Maintain and repair Hatchery equipment, loading of incubators at required times. Must not have exposure to poultry or birds outside of work.

This position has a target wage of $18.05 - $20.00

Shift: Sunday – Thursday 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • On call for Hatchery alarms
  • Load incubators with eggs at scheduled times directed by management
  • Read, interpret, and understand manufacturers’ equipment manuals, preventative maintenance (PM) task sheet, and safety policies
  • Perform equipment adjustments and repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency breakdowns
  • Perform specific duties during both production and non-production hours in a timely manner adhering to OSHA Lockout/Tagout and Company safety regulations
  • Monitor performance of equipment and inform maintenance and production supervisor of potential issues
  • Maintain log books by applying math skills through the equipment PM stages in order to calibrate machinery to performance standard
  • Adhere to all safety rules including PPE,  preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters
  • Must not have exposure to Poultry or birds outside of work

Minimum Education

  • High School or equivalent

Experience Requirements

  • 0-2 years
  • Reading, writing, and analytical skills are required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position is active with routine on the floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems
  • Must be able to obtain company certification for use of pallet jack, scissor lift, and forklift
  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment
  • Exposure to temperatures ranging from 55- 105 degrees
  • Humidity up to 100%
  • Work in wet, damp, dusty (chicken down) environment
  • Occasional exposure to outside ambient temperatures
  • Exposed to chemicals and vaccines to be covered in SDS training and hazardous communications
  • Must use personal protective equipment as required for the job as described by company
