Willamette Valley Vineyards is gearing up for our Harvest season and searching for Harvest Cellar Interns to join our hardworking production team.

This position will work from early September 2024 through the end of Harvest (date to be determined)

Position Overview:

The Harvest Cellar Interns assist with cellar work to help with the making of the wines. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for producing high-quality wines, and are excited to learn more about the process

Primary Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Cap management of fermentations which includes, punch-downs, pump-overs, and pulse air.
  • Making additions to tanks and barrels.
  • Barrel work: topping, sampling, barreling down, and sanitizing.
  • Operate presses, pumps, and other cellar equipment.
  • Sanitation of tank and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Practical knowledge of cellar operations
  • Previous harvest experience is preferred but not required.
  • Highly developed, detail-oriented organizational, operational, and time management skills. 
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to understand and comply with all safety requirements.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to work long hours.
  • Stand for long periods & work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tolerate exposure to outside elements (heat, wet and/or damp conditions, cold)
  • Perform heavy physical work, ability to lift 50 lbs (lifting, bending, climbing, pulling, or squatting for long periods).
  • Work long hours during crush and peak periods (including all shifts).
  • Reliable transportation to work.

*Daily lunch is provided through harvest.
