The Role:
Join us as a Hardware Engineer, where you’ll play a crucial role in our engineering team, focusing on the development and enhancement of our WAM-V autonomous surface vehicles. Your expertise will drive the advancement of hardware systems that ensure our marine robots perform with unmatched precision and reliability. This role offers the chance to explore the intricacies of marine hardware systems, applying your knowledge to propel our mission and redefine industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement hardware systems for autonomous marine vehicles, including sensors, actuators, and power systems.
- Develop robust and reliable hardware solutions for control, navigation, and communication of our WAM-V technology.
- Collaborate with the controls systems engineering team to integrate hardware with software systems.
- Design and prototype new electronic circuits, PCBs, and wiring harnesses specific to marine applications.
- Lead the development and maintenance of hardware testing and configuration tools.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware-related issues in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Hardware Engineering role, preferably in robotics or marine systems.
- Strong proficiency in circuit design and PCB layout.
- In-depth understanding of microcontrollers, sensors, and power management systems.
- Practical experience with troubleshooting and hardware debugging.
- Familiarity with marine electronic standards and connectors.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Desired:
- Experience with environmental sealing and considerations for marine or harsh environments.
- Knowledge of communications protocols such as TCP/IP and Serial
- Hands-on experience with marine vehicles or willingness to participate in sea trials.
- Eligibility to obtain US Government Security clearance.
