Looking for a new opportunity? Join us in Fulfillment Technology & Robotics to conceive, design and develop innovative products for e-commerce operations that may include robotics, mechatronic sortation solutions, packaging automation, AGVs, storage or other hardware solutions.
Key job responsibilities
This role is with Amazon Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging. We design custom packaging automation, conveyance and sortation solutions for large-scale deployment in Amazon's fulfillment network. We build the Mechatronics and Robotics solutions that enable the efficiencies that customers have come to expect from Amazon's retail business. We focus on safety, speed of delivery, optimization and value. We tackle big goals and work hard to make automation history through invention, problem-solving, and highly-engaged teams. We are a global organization with research and development in North America and Europe.
As a Mechanical Engineer for Amazon Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging team, you will work in an interdisciplinary team to develop, design, prototype, and test innovative automation solutions for Amazon's fulfillment network. You will own key aspects of the architecture of complex and integrated electro-mechanical systems from concept to production and deployment. You will drive the technical details and pragmatic feasibility of mechatronic systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, both internal and external, to deliver reliable and scalable systems. Lead the design and integration of mechatronics systems, considering mechanical, electrical, and software components.
Build, test and validate prototypes to prove path to viable, manufacturable and scalable solutions.
Design electro-mechanical components, create detailed designs in CAD, generate drawings and release documentation for manufacturing through a PLM software
Collaborate with program and engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
Use your experience in mechatronics or robotics to improve the overall system efficiencies and performance
Your design and implementation decisions demonstrate mechanical engineering best practices
Independently create proof-of-concepts that include mechanical, electrical and software components
Work with the Safety, Regulatory, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality teams as well as outside partners to ensure smooth product launches
Travel domestically and internationally to troubleshoot your designs in early field applications.
