Major Responsibilities:
- Administers therapy evaluations and develops treatment plan for patients with hand/upper extremity injuries or dysfunction, including infants and children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics and frail elderly, inpatient and outpatient.
- Provides individual treatment to remediate, restore and/or compensate for sensorimotor,neuromuscular, or musculoskeletal dysfunction.
- Fabricates static and dynamic splints, utilizes physical agent modalities as per licensure and training.
- Facilitates return to activities of daily living through provision of adaptive devices, education in compensatory techniques and use of goal directed activities.
- Educates patient in injury prevention and health promotion techniques.
Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
- Bachelors or Basic Master's degree in Occupational or Physical Therapy from accredited OT or PT school or equivalent.
- Current license to practice Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- AOTCB certification, or eligible and registered for next examination COT.
- Successful completion of National Physical Therapy Board Examination, or eligible for examination and scheduled for next sitting.
