Laundry Driver - Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for a full time laundry driver that will be r esponsible for the prompt, efficient and safe delivery and pickup of laundry. Responsible for loading and unloading of truck, physically counting and weighing of goods during delivery and pickup. Perform minor maintenance and safety checks of truck.
Experience driving a medium size truck, with the ability to operate a standard transmission. Experience in customer service and delivery of products required.
Physical Requirements:
Free of tuberculosis in a communicable form. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 70 pounds. Extensive standing, bending, pushing and lifting. Must be able to move and direct pallet jack/carts with material weighing up to 900 lbs. Must pass and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
Security Levels:
Acceptable driving record, criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening required. Computer password, Keys to assigned buildings, Fuel Card for assigned vehicles, federal site clearances, as required.
Training:
Complete all trainings as required.
- Ensures the delivery and pick up of laundry occurs at the scheduled times.
- Provides quality goods and service to customers and continually works to improve service to customers.
- Completes accurate counts and weights at delivery and pickup locations.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment and vehicle, and accurately completing required vehicle logs.
- Assists in ensuring that all loads are built and the delivered weight and that the count of finished goods is correct for every delivery.
- Ensures all finished goods are packaged properly as per customer specification.
- Generates load tickets and/or other necessary paperwork for deliveries and pickups.
- Follows safety practices and ensures assigned helpers also follow safety practices at off site locations.
- Ensures that all blood borne pathogens standards are followed.
- Knowledge of professional ethics, human relationships, teamwork, and customer relations
- Knowledge of Eggleston and departmental policies and procedures
- Knowledge of safe and efficient operation of delivery vehicles
- Skill in communicating effectively orally and in writing
