Overview of the Rehabilitation Counselor

Bancroft’s Lakeside Campus for people with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities fosters a stable environment where each individual can realize their best life. Rehabilitation Counselors are part of the behavioral support team, providing supervision, guidance, instruction, skill building, and/or rehabilitation to assigned persons served within a specific site regarding daily living activities, safety, vocational activities, and interaction with others.
How You Can Make a Real Impact:
- Monitor, engage, and provide skill building through basic education and development, behavioral support, outreach support, and advocacy to those supported and their families to facilitate greater independence.
- Ensuring that the individuals served are supported vocationally to lead emotionally and physically healthy lifestyles.
- Complete paperwork and communicate with residents, families, and guardians.
- Transport and accompany individuals to appointments and community outings.
- Basic Education or Special Education (cannot be in a specific field such as Social Studies, Chemistry, English, etc.)
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Social Work
- Counseling
Candidates must also be able to read, write and speak the English language competently.
Candidates would be responsible for their own transportation to the US.
Must be 18 years of age.
