Duties:
- Plan and conduct gymnastics classes for students of various ages and skill levels
- Teach proper techniques and skills in gymnastics, including floor exercises, balance beam, uneven bars, and vault
- Create a safe and supportive environment for students to learn and practice gymnastics
- Provide individualized instruction and feedback to help students improve their skills
- Develop lesson plans and curriculum that align with the goals and objectives of the gymnastics program
- Monitor student progress and communicate with parents/guardians regarding their child's development
- Ensure equipment is set up properly and maintained in a safe condition
- Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents or injuries during classes
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of gymnastics techniques, skills, and terminology
- Experience working with children or students in a coaching or teaching capacity
- Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate gymnastics techniques to students
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with children
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, parents, and fellow coaches
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Knowledge of other related sports or activities such as martial arts, cheerleading, basketball, swimming, judo, karate is a plus
