The primary responsibility of a Gun Department Associate for Family Farm and Home is to help the Gun Department Manager develop a fully compliant gun department while delivering an outstanding shopping experience for each customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Include but are not limited to:
A.Promote Family Farm and Home mission statement and family values.
B.Promote an aggressive sale culture with intense focus on superior customer service.
C.Maintain professionalism and positive store morale
D.Responsible for completion and follow up on all operational requirements for the gun department in regards to all ATF requirements and federal laws
E.Verify all firearms and ammunition are properly received, stored and merchandised.
F.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications and reviewing company provided information from vendor and support team
G.Learn and maintain proper documentation of federal forms
H.Maintain high standards of merchandising and cleanliness in the gun department
I.Willingness to be adaptable and open to change
J.A working knowledge and safety requirements of firearms would be necessary
K.All other duties as assigned by store management or company official
Gun Department Associate Requirements:
A successful Gun Department Associate will learn all federal ATF. They will need to have good oral/written communication skills in regards to customers, team members, management staff and all support personnel. The Gun Department Associate will need to be very detailed oriented with an extensive follow-up skill set. A successful Gun Department Associate will adhere to all safety practices. They must be able stand for extended lengths of time. They are required to be able to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures. They must be able to climb up and down ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs. They will need to be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays. In addition a Gun Department Associate will be required to pass a background screening. Minimum Age of 21.
