Job Summary:

Raytheon’s Flight Avionics (FA) Department is hiring an Integrated Product Team Lead(AssociateDirector) to join their team in Tucson, AZ. The selected IPTL will support the SM-2 IIICU / SM-6 IU Programs and responsible for leading a multi-disciplined, geographically dispersed team in the design, development, and delivery of a Guidance Section (GS) Subsystem.

The GS IPTL will frequently interface with internal and external stakeholders, technical subject matter experts, and key major suppliers. The role requires a high level of execution expertise coupled with the ability to lead a high visibility development program.

This position is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Drive execution of work scope as defined in the program schedule and define objectives and priorities for your sub-IPTs (Integrated Product Team) leads.

  • Communicate to Raytheon Engineering and program leadership to provide status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed.

  • Manage team budget and schedule and work with your team to ensure cost goals and schedule milestones are met.

  • Track cost and schedule performance using EVMS (earned value management system), be responsible for estimated-at-complete (EACs), and report business metrics to program and functional leadership.

  • Manage the development maturation of leading-edge Guidance Section subsystem technologies to deliver a production ready design, within a challenging schedule.

  • Provide program leadership to the Sub-IPTs and many collaborative partners from Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, and Global Supply Chain.

  • Provide mentoring and guidance to team members.

  • Collaborate with other IPTs to ensure system effectiveness.

  • Obtain and maintain additional program access as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum and 12 years’ of engineering experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and 10 years’ of engineering experience

  • Experience managing a multi-disciplined Hardware Engineering Team.

  • Experience with leading a technical team and supplier collaboration management.

  • Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management to identify issues and develop recommended courses of action to program leadership.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).

  • 10+ years of experience in managing a multi-disciplined Hardware Engineering Team thru the product development lifecycle.

  • Experience leading a team in an Agile development environment.

  • Ability as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) to drive design and development.

  • Experience managing supplier development of complex electrical subsystems.

  • Program Management certification.

  • Experience with presentations and proposals

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

  • Experience with knowledge of market with the ability to identify best practices and how to best utilize within company.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
