Lake Country Lutheran High School is seeking a full-time Guidance Counselor to join our team for the 2024-25 school year!

Responsibilities

- Demonstrate and understanding of and commitment to LCMS teachings
- Encourage faith development in students while demonstrating maturity in faith and personal leadership qualities
- Establish positive rapport and appropriate professional connections with students, families, and colleagues
- Demonstrate effective organization, collaboration, and communication
- Meet with students individually to provide guidance and counsel
- Mentor students regarding school, home, and social situations
- Counsel students on appropriate high school course selections and enrollment
- Guide students in preparation for post-high school options including, but not limited to, university enrollment, military, workforce, and so on
- Possess knowledge of current and up-to-date university admissions processes and continue to modify school systems and processes as needed
- Use school systems such as Skyward and Parchment and connect with college application systems such as the Common App
- Conduct educational sessions for students/parents regarding post-high school options and plans
- Manage high school transcripts and letters of recommendation
- Process college applications and other documentation related to post-high school plans
- Advocate for the well-being of students and keep in direct communication with students’ teachers, other school personnel, and students’ parents regarding student progress and/or special needs
- Coordinate with other members of the Student Services Team, teachers, and administrators to meet the needs of the students, families, and the school
- Counsel students and refer students for additional professional support for mental, emotional, or psychological health when further treatment is needed
- Maintain professional and timely communication with students, families, and other school personnel
- Participate in, facilitate, and support school community events and extra-curricular
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- School Counselor and/or Licensed Professional Counselor certification preferred
