Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion Assembly on a full-time basis.
The Role:
The GSIP Administrator will support launch and steady state at Orion Assembly. GSIP standards for Global Standard Inspection Process Administrator. The GSIP Administrator will work directly with the IT team to support critical plant functions. The selected candidate will need to be a strong effective communicator/presenter and possess the ability work with cross functional teams. This is a day shift (1st shift) position that will require some local travel to Warren and Factory Zero.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Learn the GSIP Administration Tool and how GSIP functions on the plant floor
Work with Central Administration and Plant implementation team to test and debug all functions
Participate as a team member in the GSIP User Group
The plant lead will be the liaison between the plant staff/union representatives and the GSIP team
Lead the implementation of GSIP from the plants perspective by providing status updates, communicate necessary business process changes, and work with the GSIP implementation team to solve day-to-day issues
Develop a corrective action plan with timeline to close gaps
Develop a training Plan with the QSE’s - the plan will include who, what, where and when training will occur
Ensure all standardized work (JES’s) are clear and current and are being followed by the inspectors
Coordinate process mapping of GSIP defect structure to JES’s
Ensure “Flex” time is included in inspectors time to allow time for IRC (confirming in GSIP and on the vehicle)
Develop the plan to track and monitor the hardware installation needed for training and final installation and track tooling validation
Ensure initial and continued effectiveness of Open/Repaired/Confirmed when repair and IRC processes have been implemented
Leader of GSIP & IRC implementation in their department
Conducts, tracks and maintains training for the Department Overview
On-line & offline IRC
Defect entry
Reporting
Responsible for training all Group Leaders, Repairpersons, and Team Leaders and VS Operators Stand up skills needed, and one on one skills required
Owns updating the Staff on Training Progress
Able to make decisions for their department concerning GSIP implementation (i.e. Station layouts)
Act as a liaison between GSIP team and the department to implement the business transformation
Authorize proper level of configuration requirements
Assume role of technical contact for GSIP in department
Time availability to work with GSIP team during implementation process
Act as a full-time resource during deployment to answer and trouble shoot any questions that may need answering
Additional Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
5 years of manufacturing experience
3 years of IT experience
Firm understanding of Online and Offline IRC processes
Understanding of department conveyor lines, process flow, responder/repair stations and GSIP stations
Flexibility to work different crews and shifts as needed
Able to communicate effectively and work cross functionally with different departments and groups
Highly effective communicator and presenter
Managerial courage
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in IT or Engineering
5+ years of manufacturing experience
3+ years of IT experience
Familiarity w/GSIP
Familiarity w/GMS
Familiar w/torque processes
Experience working in UAW environment
