The Group Sales Manager is responsible for promoting Sun Valley Resort and achieving their group room nights and revenue goals. Salary is negotiable. Remote work is negotiable. The ability to travel is required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accountability for achieving group room night, revenue goals, and individual booking pace goals.
- Strong focus on prospecting for new business and tracking new accounts.
- An ability to adapt to policy, procedures, or work environment changes easily and willingly.
- Develop accounts (new and existing) by mapping specific business and buying tendencies.
- Promote awareness to corporate, incentive, and association markets via travel to respective regions in the country, providing presentations and personal sales calls.
- Create and execute direct sales plans specific to market assignments, including sales blitzes, as well as planning and participation of FAMS.
- Conduct property tours to potential group planners and potential customers; entertain clients during site inspections, pre-planning trips, and program operation when appropriate.
- Serve as a Group Sales liaison with key departments such as Conference Services, Operations, and other internal customers, as appropriate, to ensure all group needs are met and executed according to clients' needs.
- Coordinate all sales-related activity through the direction of the Director of Sales; negotiate contract specifics to achieve maximum profitability while satisfying customer needs.
- Conduct all sales-related interactions with the highest level of professionalism while maintaining specified Sun Valley Company standards.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- A college degree in business administration, hotel management, or related discipline is preferred.
- Hotel sales preferred.
- Microsoft Office includes Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Prior experience with OPERA or Delphi is preferred, as is the ability to learn OPERA or Delphi. Knowledge of local and regional competition is helpful.
- English language skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Skiing or snowboarding experience is preferred but optional.
