The purpose of this role is to assist in implementing all strategies and activities to generate and maximize overall revenue, through marketing, sales, promotion, advertising, and public relations that will impact positively on all operating departments of the hotel, thereby resulting in a profitable return on the ownership’s investment. This position focuses on soliciting small to mid-size group business for the hotel.
- Achieve monthly room night booking goals, handling group blocks under 75 on peak nights.
- Follow Omni & property specific booking guidelines.
- Participate in sales trip targeting specific areas and group within market.
- Solicit accounts within assigned market segment utilizing Delphi.
- Prospect and develop new accounts in line with the hotel's stated Mission Statement.
- Maintain aggressive weekly telephone, site inspection and personal call goals and outside sales.
- Use all prospect sources as identified in the Sales Action Plan.
- Follow up promptly on leads generated by the GSO, other Omni Hotels & Resorts, and other lead sources.
- Active involvement in industry associations and trade shows.
- Achieve budgeted room nights, rate and revenues.
- Participates in development of direct mail and all promotions related to the Corporate or SMERF market segment needs.
- Maintain positive attitude and welcome change.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in business, communications, or hotel management preferred
- Two or more years of related experience in Group Sales work in an upscale or luxury full-service hotel setting is required
- Must have experience in "cold call" solicitation, contract closing, site inspections/visits with clients, setting up fam trips and contract negotiations.
- Participate in development training through Omni Hotels & Resorts.
- Remain current with all pertinent computer software programs and equipment
- Have working knowledge of all departments, the hotel and its amenities.
- Participate in all sales meetings and line-ups.
- Submit SMART Plans & Development Goals, and Market Place Action Plans yearly
