Job Description
A Group Home Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of a Group Home, which is a residential facility that provides care and support for individuals who may have disabilities, mental health challenges, or other special needs. The role of a Group Home Manager involves various responsibilities, including:
1. Staff Supervision: Hiring, training, and supervising staff members, such as direct support professionals, caregivers, and other personnel working in the Group Home.
2. Client Care: Ensuring the well-being and care of the residents or clients living in the Group Home. This may include assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and addressing their specific needs.
3. On Call and Weekend Call twice monthly.
4. Regulatory Compliance: Complying with state and federal regulations, as well as any licensing or certification requirements, to maintain a safe and legally compliant environment.
5. Budget Management: Some managing the Group Home's budget, including overseeing expenses, purchasing supplies, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
6. Program Development: Developing and implementing programs and activities that enhance the quality of life and meet the unique needs of the residents.
7. Record Keeping: Maintaining records and documentation related to residents' care, including MARS inspection, staff schedules, incident reports, and financial records.
8. Communication: Serving as a point of contact for residents, their families, and external agencies, and facilitating effective communication among all parties involved.
9. Emergency Response: Being prepared to respond to emergencies and crises, ensuring the safety and security of residents and staff.
10.Assessments and Planning: Conducting assessments of residents' needs and working with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
11.Quality Assurance: Monitoring and evaluating the quality of care and services provided to residents, making necessary improvements or adjustments.
12.Reporting: Preparing and submitting reports to regulatory agencies, funding sources, and senior management.
13.Problem Solving: Addressing conflicts, challenges, and issues that may arise in the Group Home and finding appropriate solutions.
