Domaine Willamette is looking for an onsite groundskeeper to maintain the gardens and facility grounds at the property in the Dundee Hills. Domaine Willamette is the home to our world-class méthode traditionnelle sparkling wines, with an underground aging cellar at the biodynamically-farmed Bernau Estate Vineyard. This winery offers Oregon-inspired hospitality with wine and food pairings, stunning views, educational tours ,and beautiful gardens for guests to enjoy and explore
What we offer:
This full-time groundkeeper position that includes housing and utilities paid in a partially furnished 3-bedroom home onsite, health, dental and vision benefits, a 401k, and generous employee discount.
What We Ask:
Domaine Willamette is looking for an individual for a unique opportunity to work and live onsite in company-owned residence at our iconic biodynamic Oregon winery and vineyard as groundskeeper and security for the property. This individual must be a hard worker, with experience and a passion for plant and grounds maintenance, and possess some handyperson skills. An aesthetic awareness and eye for detail is critical for this position.
Requirements for this position:
- Have a basic understanding of plant and soil types and be willing to learn/adhere to the biodynamic certification requirements of Bernau Estate Vineyard.
- Effective communication in both English and Spanish is essential for collaboration with the vineyard crew, tasting room staff, and customers in this role.
- Have a customer service and professional approach to working around the property.
- Physically able to do manual labor and work with Domaine Willamette leadership and guests when needed. Examples: help load wine into guest cars, let overnight guests into the dwelling after hours, direct traffic and parking crews during high volume events, opening the Estate for guests in all seasons.
- Be able to adhere to WVV safety protocol and procedures when using equipment and handling chemicals, and knows limitations and when to ask for help.
- Be in charge of the property and the facilities security duty on nights and weekends, including responding to emergencies. Due to the security tasks required in this role, a background and driving record check will be completed annually.
- Be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and walk staircases and hilly/uneven terrain.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Events Manager.
- Supports Company’s effort to create a more sustainable, cross-cultural and “green” environment.
Must be able to:
- Lift 50 lbs.
- Have a valid/current Driver’s License.
- Show a working knowledge of general landscaping practices and light building maintenance work.
- Follow all company, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Function in a team environment.
