Grounds Manager

About the Position:
Manages all operational and administrative aspects of the landscaping and grounds maintenance activities for the campus. Participates in the development of policies, procedures, goals, and standards for campus-wide landscaping and grounds maintenance. Supervises staff, contractors, and administers and approves work budgets and expenditures.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7am - 3:30pm
Your Role:
- Comply with all federal, state and accreditation regulatory requirements.
- Hire and train departmental staff.
- Ensure Mountainside grounds and properties on the main campus are maintained in a pristine fashion within the Mountainside standards set forth by the design team.
- Performance appraisals for all staff
- Manage all personnel issues
- Grounds maintenance landscaping of gardens, pruning of trees, cutting grass, maintaining ball fields, labyrinth, high/low ropes course, and mountain trails
- Ensure all Mountainside assets such as mowers, week whackers, blowers, utility cart, fork-lift, Chain saws, and any other grounds safety equipment are maintained in a safe and functioning condition at all times.
- Ability to repair Grounds equipment.
- Cleaning of gutters; Debris, Ice or any other requirements deemed necessary
- Planting requests such as trees, shrubs, flowers or gardens.
- Support all Holiday Thematic decoration activities.
- Ordering of all supplies within the annual budget
- Negotiate Snow removal contracts for all campus properties.
- Ensure Department Playbook is followed and updated regularly as needed.
- Maintain records of all equipment and maintenance required.
- Irrigation maintenance & repair including sprinkler systems, etc.
- Ensuring safety for all staff, client and contractors while onsite work being conducted
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in maintaining grounds, landscape, hardscape in a management role - Required
- High School Diploma or Equivalent - Required
Compensation:
The base rate of pay for this position is $28.00 to $32.00 per hour. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
