Form of workRogers Group is seeking a General Laborer/Groundman for our 2nd Shift quarry operations located in Lacey's Spring, AL..
Wages $22.00hr, starting wage based on experience. Plus $3.00 Shift Differential for night shift positions.
This position primary work location will be Lacey's Spring, AL. However, this position will be required to alternate to Tanner, AL as needed for production support.
The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
General plant/mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assist with plant clean up and operations
Being trained in various other entry level production positions and fill in as needed during vacations, absences, and increased production demand times
Report equipment problems and identify them to management
Light maintenance work and maintain the belt lines
Complete equipment pre-shift report - if applicable
Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environment
Ability to maintain safe working conditions
Self-motivated individual, must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision
Able to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment and other duties as assigned
Ability to learn quickly
Must be willing to work weekends and overtime
Must pass pre-employment drug screen

35-hour Weather Guarantee after 30 days of employment, must be available to work 6 days during the seven-day work period. Hours guaranteed up to 35 hours (example: worked 20hrs, Actual Pay 35hrs; worked 38hrs, Actual Pay 38hrs). Weather pay is accrued on weekly accumulation, not hours per day. Holiday pay counts toward the 35-hour guarantee.
Paid Holiday Shutdown period between Christmas and New Years in addition to 7 holidays throughout the year.
Paid vacation - Accrued during the first year starting at 180 days, 2 weeks at 1 year; 3 weeks at 5 years; 4 weeks at 20 years of service.
Annual performance-based merit increases.
