Ground Software Engineers at United Launch Alliance design, develop, test, operate, and maintain mission-critical software used to command, control, and monitor systems on the launch vehicle and launch pad systems during launch vehicle manufacturing, assembly, and countdown through liftoff.
This role will be supporting the GSW L.E.A.P. (Long Endurance Advanced Prototype) team, developing experimental long duration upper stage capabilities under the NASA Tipping Point contract.
Specific responsibilities Include:
• Operate as part of an agile/scrum software development team taking features from requirements development through design, implementation, and test.
• Perform trade studies, and product assessments to identify an optimal technology stack to support ULAs evolving GSW needs.
• Mentor and train the development team on software architecture and best practices.
• Implement software solutions to meet the goals of the software strategic roadmap.
• Evolve and Improve Software and Software practices for a more testable and maintainable code base.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel to produce high-quality software that meets stakeholder needs, delivers value for the enterprise, and most importantly ensures a successful launch every time.
• Provide live support and expertise during product enhancement rollouts.

Your Background: What skills you'll need
• A Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a related technical field from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four years of directly related exempt work experience may be used to satisfy the bachelor's degree requirement.
• Demonstrated Experience developing and communicating software architectural roadmaps.
• Experience with:
- Developing software for Linux-based operating systems
- Designing and implementing large-scale object-oriented software systems
- C++ (2014 and older)
- Refactoring legacy codebases
- Integrating software with DevSecOps pipelines

Summary Salary Range (Colorado Only)
$166,752 - $260,609
