Ground Laborer

Job Description
Reports to: Asst Director of Maint and Grounds
General Summary: Grounds laborer works directly with the grounds and maintenance dept to keep our outdoor facilities in order. This position offers a wide variety of tasks.
Essential Functions:
Primary job duties would consist of weed eating all locations as well as general grounds laborer assigned by Head Grounds Keeper
Job may also consist of mowing lawns at assigned facilities, trims and edges
Performs required equipment maintenance as scheduled
Performs general grounds keeping tasks as assigned
Removes trash in the area before mowing
Treats equipment with care; raises mower on sharp turns
Remains on tractor at all times when mower engine is running; does not operate equipment in immediate area when students are present; exercises safety precautions at all times
Cleans mowing unit daily after use
Immediately reports to supervisor any damage to school property
Reports any needed repairs/service to mowing equipment to supervisor
Performs other reasonably-related duties as may be assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
Qualifications:
Excellent work record
Good mechanical aptitude
Proven ability to work well with others as part of a team
Length of Contract: full time
