An experienced Snow Groomer will groom alpine ski runs to maintain a safe skiing and boarding environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Check assigned snowcat for mechanical defaults before and after operation.
- Complete work orders on mechanical defaults found and submit them to snowcat mechanics.
- Maintain ski lift ramps.
- Attend all driver meetings and ensure projects addressed are completed.
- Meet with coworkers before leaving the mountain base to determine route and technique (individual or fleet grooming).
- Transport mountain freight to designated mountain lodges.
- Operate snowcat on designated ski runs.
- Operate any other equipment relevant to snow grooming.
Qualifications:
- A valid driver's license is required for this position.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three seasons related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to be required to sit regularly; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions and vibration are required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
