Grocery Associate

Pemberton Farms Marketplace is currently seeking Grocery Associates for our Grocery Department. We're looking for Part Time candidates that are available afternoons and weekends including weekend nights (until 10pm). We are also seeking Full Time candidates that are available for various shifts, including days/nights, weekends and weekend nights.

Grocery Associate

• Properly stock retail shelves with products by expiration dates.
• Safely and accurately restock product shelves.
• Ensure products are front facing and orderly on shelves.
• Interact with customers of diverse backgrounds in a positive manner.
• Provide accurate information to customers on location of items in store.
• Fast paced environment you will work with other team members, management, and buyers to ensure products are properly stocked on shelves, inventory control, and special projects.
• Other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications for Grocery Associate

• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• 1-2 years customer service experience.
• Able to safely lift boxes that weigh in excess of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work 100% of the time moving about in the work area.
• Physically able to engage in repetitive hand movements reaching shelves of varying heights.
• Ability to perform work tasks while bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching.
• Ability to perform work tasks while in cold conditions.
• Excellent customer service skills in order to work with a diverse population.
• Available and able to work a varied and variety of shifts including days, nights, and weekends/weekend nights.
• Attention to detail and the ability to learn where store products are located to provide information to customers.
• Must be able to do simple mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.

Dress Code: Clothing should be neat and clean in appearance. Closed toe shoes with non-slip soles (no crocs). Yoga pants, gym pants, sweatpants, shorts, tank tops, clothing with holes, and all logo related items that are not “Pemberton” are unacceptable. This includes hats, sweatshirts, t-shirts etc...

As a Grocery Associate you work on a team in a hands-on role, fast paced to ensure the grocery store has the products available for customer purchase in a friendly and safe environment. You are the initial point of contact for a diverse customer base in addressing questions about the location of items in the store. The ability to effectively communicate with customers is key. Additionally, you are a part of a team of associates who are responsible for stocking and restocking shelves throughout your shift which requires getting additional items from the backroom should the shelves not have items available. Stocking and restocking shelves with products require the ability to lift boxes in excess of 30 pounds, walking, able to move up and downs flights of stairs, and safely move a rolling cart through the aisles of the store.
