Grinder Machinist

Pace Engineering, Inc. is a manufacturer of machined components for the earthmoving, mining, and construction industries located in Willoughby, OH. We are seeking Centerless Grinder Machinists for all shifts. THIS IS A COMPANY DIRECT HIRE POSITION.

Centerless Grinder Machinist tasks include:

• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
• Prepares work assignment by organizing tools, supplies, and materials.
• Sets-up Centerless Grinder for close tolerance grinding by studying drawing, reading job router instructions, and adjusting grinder controls to ensure specified tolerances and surface finish are achieved.
• Loads in-process parts and operates Centerless Grinder to grind parts to desired finished dimensions and surface finish. Monitors Centerless Grinder to ensure proper operation to machine defect-free parts. Makes adjustments as necessary to correct problems.
• Dresses Centerless Grinder's wheels as necessary to ensure throughput and quality.
• Completes first piece inspection and obtains Quality Inspector signoff. Performs in-process part inspection by using calipers, mics, snap gages, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Enters daily production job results into data collection.
• Documents work by signing-off on job router.
• Performs production-maintenance activities as necessary (wipe down exterior of machine, clean grinding swarf, refill coolant/other lubricants, sweep area, empty scrap hopper, etc).
• Helps maintenance for scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary.
• Promotes a positive work environment and leads by example in all aspects of job performance. Cooperative with others.
• Other duties as assigned.

The position requires standing continuously for up to four hours, the ability to repeatedly lift up to 30 pounds, and walking throughout a multi-acre site.
