Our grief support therapists provide anticipatory and bereavement counseling to adults and families including assessing grief support needs, facilitating short term individual counseling, developing and reviewing treatment plans and providing education. Therapists also facilitate support groups, provide crisis response to the community and assist with implementing special memorial events.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited university or college in the field of counseling, social work, psychology or related human service
  • At least 2 year of working with adults and families in a mental health setting, required
  • Licensed or licensed eligible, prefereed
  • A valid Florida driver’s license and auto liability insurance is required
  • An ability to work in a team environment

  • Provide program development strategies for Treasure Coast Hospice, in an organized, routine capacity that will enable the cohesion of team developments. Work collaboratively with other departments, demonstrate and encourage leadership for a comprehensive approach to program development. Key Result Areas

  • Responsible for upholding Treasure Coast Hospice/Model Standards for patient visits and compliant documentation.
  • Clearly understanding and adhering to each Standard.
  • Motivate and lead self with confidence, energy and integrity.
  • Provide quality, solution focused counseling for an average of 3 – 4 individual, groups, events, crisis response presentations per day.
  • Facilitates and develops support groups, at least six per year.
  • Provides crisis response and education to schools, businesses, and faith communities as a member of crisis response team, at least 1 per year.
  • Assists with planning, developing and implementing special events (NCMD, Camps, ROUTES, Grief & the Holidays, Tree of Life, etc.) at least 1 per year.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of client information, clinical assessments progress notes, treatment plans and other clinical documentation as measured by the results of bi-monthly audits.
  • Maintain professional skill credentials as measured by state licensure and Treasure Health CEU requirements.
  • Must have the capacity to embrace a flexible work schedule to meet the patient and family needs.
  • Maintain a high level of urgency, customer consciousness and service excellence.
  • Participate as an active supporter of the Treasure Coast Hospice compliance program, including an emphasis to report, as well as complying with all Federal, State and Local laws as well as the organization’s compliance program.
  • Fulfill all responsibilities related to the success of the strategic plan of the organization, as requested and assigned.

OSHA Category

Position will be categorized as category III (involves no routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids/tissues).

Working Conditions

  • Typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
  • Sedentary – Exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria met.
  • The work is required to have close visual acuity such as/preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
