REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Graphics Designer.
General Description
Provides material for print and ensures that all work sent for duplication, publication or distribution is in the appropriate format.
Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one (1) year of coursework from an accredited college or university in graphic design.
(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)
Requires one (1) year in graphic design and printing or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses Required
None.
Preferences
Associates degree or classes in Arts & Media, Graphic Design, or Marketing
1+ years of experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Certification in Graphic Design
Bachelor's degree or higher in Graphic Design or related field
1+ years experience in using Canva
1+ years experience in Internet and social media graphic requirements
1+ years experience using any of the following software: Acrobat Pro, Roxio, Word Perfect, Excel, and Plotter Poster Printer
1+ years experience creating/designing the following: Flyer's, brochures, bus route timetables, mailers, logos, invitations, booklets, signs, posters, presentations, story boards and newsletters
1+ years experience creating ADA accessible files
1+ years experience in web transfers (uploading, FTP to different sites, etc.)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
Prepares and prints business cards, flyers, brochures, newsletters, booklets, certificates; prepares proofs of work and remains in contact with customers through the delivery process; revises and outputs art document files created elsewhere to expedite production and cutting.
Prepares mailing lists and newsletters; formats and verifies for mailing; labels envelope or flyer; prints assigned jobs on color copiers; outputs posters and banners.
Administers the Print Shop Work Order System, the County's online customer printing request and payment system. System administrator will add and delete users and troubleshoot the system at office level.
Tasked with taking photos and videos of BCT property, buses, employees, internal, and external events for cataloging and usage of marketing, community outreach, and social media materials.
Coordinate, plan, and manage the design process for conceptualizing and designing marketing materials for the Broward County Transportation Department as needed.
Assists agency staff as needed, and occasionally assists with various bindery jobs.
Performs related work as assigned.
