WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The GRAMMY Museum is seeking a skilled and creative Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for translating concepts into visually appealing and impactful designs across various mediums. You will collaborate with various internal teams to deliver compelling visuals that align with brand guidelines and effectively communicate our messages.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop visually engaging designs for print and digital mediums, including brochures, flyers, email, social media graphics, website elements, and promotional materials.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand design requirements and project objectives. Advise on best practices, offering solutions that consider budget, brand and timing.
- Generate creative concepts and ideas that effectively convey key messages.
- Ensure all designs align with brand guidelines, maintaining consistency across various platforms and materials.
- Work with Director of Marketing to create and expand brand specifications and guideline materials.
- Educate internal stakeholders on brand specifications and monitor all outgoing work to ensure adherence to brand identity standards.
- Execute end-to-end design processes, from concept to final production, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
- Create templates that can be customized to improve efficiencies.
- Work with external vendors and printers to oversee production processes and maintain quality standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, advancement, curatorial and programs, to understand project requirements and contribute to overall creative strategies.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to project timelines and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders on project status and updates.
- Present ideas and projects to key stakeholders, including senior managers.
- Attend press checks as needed and Q/A all design projects through production and print.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a professional Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects. Experience in the music and/or museum industry preferred.
- Advanced level in industry-standard design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Understanding of design principles, layout, typography, and color theory.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to receive constructive feedback and iterate on designs accordingly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality designs.
- Ability to multitask with strong project and time management skills.
- Must submit an online portfolio of sample work or website with sample work with application.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in web design, UI/UX design, and interactive media.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and other email/web development languages.
- Dreamweaver, Flash, CSS, JavaScript, and Flex experience.
- Animation and video editing skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
