Position Description & Details MINOT STATE UNIVERSITY DESIGN AND PRINT SERVICES Graphic Designer andCopy Center Technician/Data Technician Minot State University invites applications for the full-time position of Graphic Designer andCopy Center Technician/Data Technician. This position works within the offices of Design and Print Services (75%) and the MSU Development Foundation (25%). Responsibilities include: Complete print ready projects for all university departments and offices using digital and wide format printers, and other finishing equipment.

Manage the MSU Student and Employee Copy Center which includes completion of personal print ready projects for current students, faculty, and staff using digital and wide format printers, and other finishing equipment. Involves operation of cash register, cost estimates, daily sales reports, and daily/weekly deposits. Finishing for all Design and Print Services projects including folding, cutting, binding, padding, creasing, etc.

Design, layout and typesetting of university print and digital media items such as brochures, ads business cards, billboards, posters, flyers, etc. Follow-up project design with final production steps such as printing and finishing. Ensure all digital and print media comply with MSU graphic standards and brand guidelines.

Visually review print ready pieces received from departments to make sure they comply with MSU graphic standards and Copyright guidelines. Maintain positive, friendly, and polite attitude on the phone and in daily face-to-face contact with customers. Assist Development Foundation Database Manager with alumni and donor data input to master records through the MSU Development Foundation.

Responsible for creating records for new constituents and for modifying data in existing records to ensure the most efficient and accurate method of inputting data. Criteria for Selection: Associate degree in required. A degree in Graphic Design is preferred.

General knowledge of customer retail services required. Strong communication skills including telephone, email, and personal contact. Familiar with the processes and equipment used in the print industry (scanners, printers, and binding equipment) Knowledge of Apple computers with experience in Adobe Creative Cloud software (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat).

This position Involves frequent standing while using finishing equipment and lifting cases of paper, weighing up to 50 lbs.
