Graphic Artist

We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Artist to join our team. The Graphic Artist will be responsible for art file set up, art development, pattern creation, plotting, cutting, applying and weeding vinyl graphics, development of marketing materials, operation of the HP large format digital printer and other related tasks required for the purpose of sign manufacturing as required by work orders and customer provided art and graphics. Performs other assignments as required.

Duties:
- Must have knowledge of Graphic Art Software programs to include proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and a basic understanding in Omega Composer as a plus.

- Read and understand work orders.

- Run job according to specifications.

- Breaking down existing artwork to useable files for our machinery.

- Basic math, dimensions and blueprint interpretation is critical.

- Must be able to work well in a team environment, reporting to the Graphic Art Supervisor and working closely with the Production Manager, Account Executives, Inventory Control Specialist and peers.

Requirements:

- Ability to operate all graphic art software as well as general working knowledge of the HP 700w Printer.

- Ability to apply vinyl graphics to plastic faces and other substrates, read work orders and perform mathematical computations.

- Ability to work in a team environment reporting to the Graphic Art Supervisor. Must be able to multitask and identify discrepancies.

- Must have a creative mindset in an everchanging environment.

- Must be adaptable to current situations and have basic problem solving skills.

- Must have basic organizational & time management skills.

- Written and verbal communication with management, sales staff, and peers is required on a daily basis.

- Must demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills as needed and determined by management and accept cross functional assignments such as in the hand paint area if needed to insure completion of customer work orders in a timely manner.

- A professional demeanor consistent with a best work environment is expected to be maintained at all times.

- A degree in Graphic Arts or 2 years related experience in the trade is required.

- Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and/or Gerber Composer is required.

- Basic knowledge of large format printing is a plus.

- Basic knowledge of vinyl application processes is a plus.
