Department Information
The Woodruff School graduates high caliber mechanical engineers for a demanding profession. Mechanical engineers are the foundation of today¿s technological world. To do so, we provide enhanced facilities and laboratories to create the best learning environment and we attract outstanding faculty and students. In this period of rapid technological change, the Woodruff School produces mechanical engineers who are vital to our future.

With approximately 3,000 students, 100 faculty members, and 80 staff members, we are one of the largest mechanical engineering programs in the country. We are consistently ranked as one of the top 10 mechanical engineering programs in the U.S. at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and continuously innovate to keep our school at the forefront of engineering education. Our size and resources allow us to offer a diversity of educational and research opportunities that enable us to produce highly sought after engineering professionals.

Job Summary


Assist the faculty with preparation of pre-award proposals and a portion of the post-award process and grant requests. May serve as interface for proposal management with various groups involved in the process. Coordinate and prepare paperwork to granting agencies involved with grant-proposal submittal and coordinate submittals with Finance Office and/or the Office of Sponsored Programs. Interact with faculty, researchers staff, students.

Responsibilities


Job Duty 1 -
Assist faculty with the preparation of proposals and grant requests. Read solicitations, prepare forms and all required paperwork. Enter proposals into FastLane or grants.gov and prepare paperwork for the Finance Office and/or the Office of Sponsored Programs.
Job Duty 2 -
Read, proof, and edit proposals. Coordinate and prepare paperwork to granting agencies involved with grant-proposal submittals; coordinate submittals with the Finance Office and/or the Office of Sponsored Programs.
Job Duty 3 -
Monitor work in progress and provide information on various funding sources.
Job Duty 4 -
May coordinate all overdue deliverables and upcoming deliverables with faculty.
Job Duty 5 -
May provide assistance to students, post docs, research faculty on fellowships and proposals.
Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Three to five years job related experience

Preferred Qualifications


Additional Preferred Qualifications
Some experience using FastLane and grantsgov is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


SKILLS
Familiarity with grant proposal processes.
