Job description

What You Will Be Doing
This position will apply for, track, and manage reporting for federally available funding for the Division of Forestry & Fire Protection. Grants will support hazardous fuels removal, forest inventory, forest stewardship, forest health, community forestry, and cross-boundary forest management projects. The Grants Administrator will interpret, explain, and apply grant-related laws, regulations, and policy guidance documents to ensure that DOF's grant programs comply with state and federal requirements and be the point of contact between state and federal partners.
Mission and Culture
The Division of Forestry & Fire Protection (DOF) provides vital public safety functions for wildland fire protection on over 150 million acres. The high-functioning administrative team you will join supports the “boots on the ground” that provide for the safety of people, property, and resources in Alaska and nationwide.
Under its multifaceted functions, this position encounters diverse challenges and the opportunity to contribute to the success of the DOF mission. While this position is overtime ineligible, you are eligible for paid overtime during fire season.
Our administrative section’s values can be summed up as PRIDE—Positive, Reliable, Inspiring, Dependable, and Efficient. We work hard to support DOF's missions to protect Alaskans from wildland fire and develop, conserve, and enhance Alaska's forests.
We are looking for a dependable and knowledgeable individual with a strong grant administration background, excellent organizational skills, a good work ethic, and a positive attitude.
Benefits of Joining Our Team
The benefits of joining the DOF administrative team include the opportunity to work with dedicated professionals who support each other while providing the necessary support to our Forestry Program. The administrative team is expanding, adding new staff, and is actively engaged in creating a new administrative structure that supports the division's new organization. As part of this team, you will provide input to create this expert team.
The Working Environment You Can Expect
This position is located in Anchorage, at 550 W 7th Ave. Life in Southcentral Alaska is an outdoor recreationist's dream, with hundreds of miles of skiing, running, and hiking trails, as well as plentiful fishing and hunting opportunities. Also, there are parks, museums, excellent schools, great restaurants, and theatres. The selected candidate will work with a collaborative team that is comprised of highly motivated and dedicated individuals who strive to provide excellent service and support and respect the individual. We promote a healthy life and work balance and enjoy a positive work environment.

  • A creative problem-solver who will help develop and maintain processes, forms, and templates associated with grant programs.
