Job Summary:

The University of Kentucky (UK) is excited to announce that we are hiring multiple Grant Specialists to provide pre-award support inthe new Collaborative Grant Services (CGS) department.
This position is the result of a nearly year-long initiative to enhance administrative support for sponsored research at the University by providing high-quality, customer-service focused, and compliant research administration support to a large and varied group of investigators – faculty, staff, and students who are involved in innovative research across numerous disciplines, creating, discovering, and exploring the most complex problems facing Kentucky, our nation and the world.
These positions may be eligible for remote work for candidates with prior research administration experience.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, support of sponsored project proposal development including budget preparation, facilitation of internal approvals for proposal submissions, and contributing regular support through entry and analysis of data within various sponsor and university proposal-related systems. Additional responsibilities will be remaining current and knowledgeable on sponsored project policy and related university rules and regulations. The Grant Specialist will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service through timely response and follow-up related to these duties.
The Collaborative Grant Services (CGS) department has been created in response to Project GATeWAY (Grants Administration Transformation as the WAY forward). Over the last decade, UK has nearly doubled its total awards for sponsored research, and in the past 5 years, sponsored research has grown more than 40%. To qualify for these positions, the required education / experience is …Master’s degree and one (1) year of experience OR equivalent (below)· High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of experience· Associate’s degree and five (5) years of experience· Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience· Doctorate degree and no experience
Related experience includes: Grant proposal, Grant management, Grant administration, Finance, Accounting, Budgeting, Program coordination, and/or Administrative/Administration
