General Position Description:
The intern will provide an extensive range of services to diverse high school populations in various settings.
Qualifications: Fortuna High School District is looking for a qualified intern to fill the position of a School Psychologist. The ideal candidate should be enrolled in an accredited school psychology internship program and should have an internship credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. In addition, the candidate should have completed training in assessment methods such as cognitive, academic, and behavioral assessment, consultation, as well as systems-wide supports. It is important that the candidate has knowledge of federal and state laws, codes, regulations, and requirements pertaining to special education.
The applicant should have good communication skills both orally and in writing, and be flexible, organized, and reliable. The successful candidate should be able to work collaboratively with a departmental team and become an active member of the school community. Prior to employment, the applicant is expected to obtain DOJ Fingerprinting and TB Clearance at their own expense.
