Form of work Position Title:Graduate Surveyor
Location: Overland Park, KS
Salary Ranges:
Entry Level: $20-25 per hour
More Experienced: $25-$30 per hour
With LSIT: $30-$35 per hour
Job Summary:
As a Graduate Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in assisting Professional Surveyors in various survey-related tasks, ensuring compliance with state statutes, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Professional Land Surveyors on a range of tasks, including CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, and computations.
- Work closely with the Professional Surveyor to define project tasks, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Evaluate property boundaries in metes and bounds and public land survey states.
- Occasional travel for courthouse research may be required.
- Coordinate effectively with field crews and office staff to optimize survey operations.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks to ensure accuracy.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment.
- Uphold division, regional, and company policies and practices within the survey service.
- Lead by example, demonstrating strong judgment, integrity, trustworthiness, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
Required Qualifications:
- Surveyor in Training (SIT) certification.
- A preferred four-year degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff.
- Familiarity with searching for and recovering Public Land Survey System monuments.
- Willingness and ability to travel and stay on project sites or other Westwood offices for extended periods (with the capability to self-fund expenses until reimbursement).
- Proficiency in Trimble Business Center (TBC) software.
