Graduate Rotation Program
We take great pride in the development and offerings included in our Graduate Rotation Program. Our Graduate Rotation Program consists of 2 one-year rotations within different departments of NRG. The Graduate Rotation Program is focused on developing the future leaders of our business. The program provides the opportunity to work in two different roles across the business, while benefiting from a wide support network of colleagues, a direct line manager and the Talent Development Team. Our aim is to help you build your strengths and gain skills that can be used as your career progresses. Our Graduate Rotation Program will appeal to self-motivated, graduating seniors with a proactive, can-do attitude, and a genuine desire to learn about our business and the energy industry. You'll see that the Graduate Rotation Program is an opportunity to influence the heart of our business.
The first year of your rotation will be on our Internal Audit Team where you will build your foundational knowledge and gain valuable on-the-job experiences that are meaningful to the success of various facets of the business.
As a Graduate Rotation Analyst, you will perform the same tasks as our entry level Analysts and have an opportunity to learn the methods, tasks, and objectives each of these groups complete in their day-to-day support of NRG's operations and business strategy.
Internal AuditGraduate Rotational Analyst Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with Internal Audit team members to help plan and prepare for upcoming audits. This may include gathering background information, understanding audit objectives, and identifying potential risks
  • Assist the team in SOX compliance program that includes participating in walkthroughs, documenting flowcharts, performing control testing and assisting control remediation
  • Participate in audit fieldwork by conducting testing of controls and processes. This may involve reviewing documentation, analyzing data, and performing substantive testing as directed
  • Maintain organized and detailed workpapers to support audit findings and conclusions. Ensure all work is adequately documented for reference and reporting purposes
  • Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to identify anomalies, trends, or potential areas of concern within the audit scope
  • Assist in the preparation of audit reports by summarizing findings, drafting recommendations, and providing clear and concise documentation of audit results
  • Collaborate with team members to track and monitor the status of audit recommendations and their implementation by the relevant process owners
  • Ensure compliance with Internal Audit standards, policies, and procedures throughout the audit process.
  • Support external auditors by coordinating information requirements
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and audit methodologies. Participate in training sessions or workshops to enhance knowledge and skills
  • Assist the team in planning of ESG control implementation
  • Assist in the development of Audit Universe
  • Identify process improvement opportunities for automation and utilization of emerging technology such as artificial intelligence

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field (if applicable).
  • Desire to enhance analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and good organizational practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have a 3.3 or higher GPA
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis without sponsorship
