Summary
The Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning has an exciting opportunity for an Admissions Coordinator to develop recruitment strategies for graduate academic offerings. Our Office of Admissions leads efforts to identify, recruit, admit and enroll the next generation of architects and urban planning professionals with a focus on talented, diverse, academically capable individuals. Reporting to the executive director of enrollment management and student affairs, ( our organizational chart ), you will work with the executive director to design strategies to increase the volume and quality of applicants and with program chairs on admissions. You will also collaborate with Taubman College faculty, staff and student groups to better understand the interests of prospective students, contemporary developments in architectural or urban planning education, and student needs in career and professional development, academic advising, marketing/communications, and others.
This hybrid job is situated in Ann Arbor and on-campus work is expected three days a week, with a few offsite weeks throughout the academic year and an offsite period from mid-May to mid-August.
Responsibilities*
Recruitment and Enrollment
  • Write, implement and evaluate an annual recruitment/yield plan for assigned graduate program(s), including graduate certificates
  • Recruit prospective students, working the admissions funnel to facilitate their enrollment, including responding to incoming student inquiries
  • Work with the chairs, program directors, marketing/communications, and fellow admissions team members to develop strategies to increase the volume and quality of applications through a variety of recruitment actions and messaging
  • Attend and represent the college and university at national and regional college fairs
  • Implement recruitment-related actions within the Taubman College Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Plan

Admissions and Aid Processing
  • Prepare application materials for faculty review committees
  • Compile and analyze data throughout the admissions cycle
  • Use available and emerging technologies to enhance efficiencies, effectiveness, and to streamline the application review process: CollegeNet, Salesforce, Perceptive Content, Wolverine Access, Business Objects, Cirrus Insight, and Slideroom
  • Implement financial aid awarding strategies to support enrollment goals
  • Work with colleagues throughout the U-M system when enrolling dual-degree students
  • Prepare materials for issuing the I-20s for international students

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1 year of admissions experience or combination of equivalent admissions and/or student services experience
  • Proficiency in Google or Microsoft software
  • Experience compiling data and producing reports
  • Ability to work a schedule that includes some evenings, weekends, and overnight travel
  • Valid driver's license

Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $53,000. Factors used to determine salary include experience, knowledge and skills for the position. You are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor transparency throughout the recruiting process.
